More and more blogs are floating to the public conciousness. This is particularly true inthe political world as many will attest after the recent elections.
For those uncertain as to what a blog really is, the word “blog” is just a contraction of “web log”, a journal maintained on the internet. Typically, a successful blog is updated on a frequent basis and many are profitable as a stand-alone entity, employing on-site advertising as a revenue stream.
What many business owners fail to realize is that a blog and their participation in blogging can add directly to the bottom line of their business, and with something other than onsite advertising.

Adding a blog to your website is a little more complicated but any site builder should be able to integrate the open source(code words for free) software into a new or existing website.

Blogging For Web Presence~The Skills

Do you need all sorts of language and programming skills to get the word out and begin building web presence with a blog?
No. While it’s a good idea to get up to speed on the basics of web progamming and how HTML, javascript and certain server operations affect your blog, your website and your prospects experience, the learning curve isn’t too steep and you don’t need a p.h.d. to get your message across(though I can promise you there are quite a few academics publishing on their own blogs).
There are lots of tutorials available on the internet or your web person should be able to help you get started…again, feel free to contact me if you need some assistance, we’ve done this too many times to count at this point.
The most important skill to have is the ability to write, to communicate clearly to a reading audience. Having something worthwhile to say about your business or industry is GOLD! If you have the words but struggle to type them out, dictate, baby, dictate! That’s why you’re the mover-and-shaker. You know how to avoid such obstacles, right?
So that’s the short, blog entry on how to start producing blog entries to build your web presence, engage your prospects and clientele and add to your bottomline.
